Read the clue
Each clue has several correct countries. Read the scope note: it tells you exactly which facts count.

Find your country
Explore the map and select a country. Your choice is saved as a candidate. You may change it until you pin or time runs out.

Make it count
Pin one final answer. A correct, less obvious choice can take you further. Complete five rounds for a score out of 500 km.

What earns more kilometres?
Correct answers earn one of five scores: Common 40 km, Uncommon 55 km, Rare 70 km, Elusive 85 km, or Farflung 100 km. An incorrect answer, a skipped round, or a timeout without a saved candidate earns zero. Kilometres are game points, not a measurement of a real route.
One final pin per clue
Look around before committing. Selecting a country is reversible; pressing Pin answer is final. You cannot test an answer, see whether it is right, and try another. You may use the same country in different rounds when it satisfies each clue.
Maps on a phone or keyboard
Use the + and − controls to zoom, then drag the map. Small-country markers make tiny states and islands reachable. A drag never commits an answer. Keyboard players can Tab to the map, navigate spatially with the arrow keys, and select with Enter or Space. The separate Pin button confirms your final answer.
Choose your pace
Daily Ranked and Classic use 60-second rounds. Wander gives you unlimited thinking time, country search, and labels. The tutorial is one separate clue and never consumes your daily attempt.
Yes. Daily play, unlimited practice, friend challenges, and private leagues are free. There are no paid attempts or score boosts.
Do I need an account?+
You can play as a guest. When sign-in is available, sign in before starting a ranked daily game to join the leaderboard and save progress across devices. The separate tutorial is safe to try before ranked play.
Can I play without a timer?+
Choose Wander. It includes a searchable country list and optional labels. These assists are separate from the timed daily leaderboard.
Does AI decide whether I am right?+
No. Correctness comes from a reviewed answer set and explicit scope. An optional AI process can suggest rarity estimates before publication. No live AI call grades your pin.
Is this the original Farflung?+
No. This is an independently developed edition with its own questions, scoring, artwork, and features. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the creators of the original Farflung game.
