Geography sources for map geometry
The vector atlas uses Natural Earth geometry distributed through world-atlas. Natural Earth publishes its map data in the public domain; the world-atlas distribution uses the ISC licence. A map boundary is not sufficient evidence for every geographical claim.
Country facts
The published question bank includes per-question references, retrieval dates, and scope. Country names, recorded capitals, recorded neighbours, and areas use a pinned GeoNames snapshot, available under CC BY 4.0. Atlas learning groups, subregions, and label coordinates follow Natural Earth 5.1.2 conventions. The 195-country catalogue uses the UN member list plus the Holy See and the State of Palestine. Read each question’s scope for its exact factual basis.
The public country catalogue records the versioned facts used by this atlas. Private current and future question answer sets are not part of that download.
Rarity and AI
Rarity is a separate editorial estimate, optionally reviewed with AI and blended with eligible historical results. It is not a geographical fact. The result’s method label and sample count identify what actually contributed to its frozen score.
Original visual and audio assets
The illustrated landscapes were created for this edition. Symbols, passport stamps, map pins, and postcard frames are original interface assets. Music and interaction sounds use original procedural compositions. Generated artwork is decorative: it never supplies selectable country outlines or factual labels.
Corrections
Every result has a question report action. Please include a specific source and explain the scope mismatch. We retain correction notes and apply material competition corrections consistently.
