THE FIELD GUIDE

Review geography mistakes after a game

Review geography mistakes one condition at a time: turn a missed clue into a fact you can explain. The aim of this routine is a specific correction you can recall later, rather than another immediate attempt at a higher score.

Review geography mistakes by cause

Choose one round and write three lines: what the clue asked, why you chose your country, and which condition it failed. If the country was valid but earned fewer kilometres than you hoped, that is a rarity outcome, not a factual error. Keep those two kinds of result separate.

Write a contrast you can test

Replace “I forgot Ethiopia” with “Ethiopia is landlocked; neighbouring Eritrea has a Red Sea coast.” Replace a vague island rule with “Haiti is an island country with a land border because it shares Hispaniola.” Check the source and locate both countries before keeping your note.

Try recall after leaving the answer list

Close the explanation and name a valid country from memory. Later, locate it in Wander without consulting your note first. If you still need help, narrow the task to one region or one pair of countries. This is a suggested practice routine, not a measured promise of better grades or a guaranteed score increase.

Make the next practice session deliberate

Use a study topic to review definitions, then open Wander for general practice. A topic page does not preload its list as a custom quiz. Unlimited draws from the question pool and may repeat clues, so another run is useful for practice but is not evidence that every question will be new.
