Both games ask you to read five geography clues and pin one qualifying country for each. Several answers may fit, and less expected correct answers score more. The interesting difference is what you want to do after that first expedition. The facts below reflect the official playing guide and this edition’s current rules, checked on 22 October 2026.

| Task | Official Farflung | This independent edition |
|---|---|---|
| Daily game | One shared five-prompt expedition per day; reset at local midnight according to the official guide. | Five prompts per UTC day on the home page. Guest results are casual; a signed-in ranked result requires sign-in before starting and is available only when that service is configured. |
| Keep playing | The official guide describes a repeatable one-prompt untimed practice round. | Unlimited offers repeatable five-prompt timed expeditions. Questions may repeat as the pool cycles. |
| Learn without a clock | The one-prompt practice round has no clock. | Wander offers five untimed prompts, country search and answer explanations. |
| Play together | Check the official game for its current social features. | A private link gives friends the same five frozen questions and scoring; invitation-only leagues use eligible Daily scores when sign-in is available. |
| Review answers | The official game shows an answer map and country facts after play. Its Logbook lets you revisit days you played, and its blog explains past answers. | Camp shows your five decisions. After each Daily competition closes, this edition’s archive publishes accepted countries, frozen rarity, sources and correction notes. No archive appears before a competition closes. |
Choose the edition that fits your next session
Go to the official Farflung for its original daily expedition and familiar one-prompt practice. Stay here when you want another full five-clue run in Unlimited, a slower search-based session in Wander, or the same private challenge shared with a friend. The games do not share accounts, results or a leaderboard.
